10 things to do near Wootton Park Pods! There’s lots you can do during a stay at Wootton Park, both on site and locally. In case you don’t know, we’re just a few miles from Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon and Historic Warwick, which are easily accessible by car or cab.
If you fancy leaving the estate, there’s lots of exploring to be done in some of the nearby Warwickshire towns.
10 Things To Do Near Wootton Park Pods:
1) Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon
The home of Shakespeare is a must visit and only 6 miles away. There’s countless things to do to suit families, couples and groups of friends, of all ages. Just some of the highlights include a visit to the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company). As well as watching a stage production, you can get a great view of the town, from the viewing tower or even from the restaurant. A boat trip along the River Avon is another lovely way to spend an afternoon. We also love the Fourteas Tearoom Brasserie for 40’s themed Afternoon Tea, cocktails or a delicious brunch. For families, the Butterfly Farm is well worth a visit.
2) Henley-In-Arden
The picturesque village of Henley-in-Arden is just a few minutes drive down the road. The fantastic High Street is one mile long, with an array of shops, ranging from high end to vintage, cafes and restaurants. Henley Icecream is a must for all gelato lovers. Made on local farms, using only natural ingredients, you’ll be spoilt for choice with over 50 flavours to choose from! A fabulous Farmers Market also runs in the Market Place, every second Saturday from 8am-2pm and every fourth Thursday of the month.
3) Historic Warwick
The historic town of Warwick is delightful to stroll through. Whilst you’re there why not visit the castle, a medieval castle developed from a wooden fort, originally built by William the Conqueror during 1068. It’s a fun-packed and educational day out for everyone. Warwick town centre is a great place to explore, with lots of shops and cafes to visit. The town also has a number of beautiful parks, including St Nicholas Park, which has lot of fun facilities for children as well.
4) Kenilworth
The charming market town of Kenilworth makes a great day out, with plenty to do, whether you’re looking for something more active or relaxed. For those wanting to visit more castles, the ruined castle of Kenilworth, along with its Elizabethan Gardens, is definitely worth a visit.
5) Yew Tree Farm
Located just down the road in Wootton Wawen, the Yew Tree Farm is another place to tick off your to see list. We can highly recommend Sally’s Chocolate Shed, owned by the creator of Henley Chocolates. Take part in a chocolate making workshop using real, sustainable ingredients and explore the fun side of chocolate making.
6) The Bulls Head
If you fancy a night off cooking, The Bulls Head is just a couple of minutes drive away in Wootton Wawen, serving up deliciously authentic Thai food alongside a more traditional pub menu. Takeaway also available.
7) Middle England Farm
A delightful, award winning Alpaca Walking Experience, which takes place on the beautiful alpaca Middle England Farm, in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside. Feel the stress roll away as you take in the scenery with an alpaca buddy walking by your side! You’ll get to meet pygmy goats, rare breed sheep and pigs, chickens, ducks and so much more! Conservation of rare British breeds is at the core of their work and they often give a home to farm animals (and bunnies!) in need. They also offer Sheep Walking, Animal Encounters and Meerkat and Goat Experiences!
8) The View

9) Hatton Country World
For a fun-filled day out, Hatton Country World is definitely a consideration, located about 20 minutes away. From the Adventure World itself to a Garden Centre/Shopping Village and Laser Combat to Escape Rooms, there really is something for everyone.
10) Coughton Court National Trust
Part of the National Trust, Coughton Court is only a 15 minute drive from Wootton Park Pods, situated between Studley and Alcester. An imposing Tudor house, set in beautiful gardens with a collection of Catholic treasures. Whilst you’re there, why not pop into the delightful town of Alcester, with its lovely High Street, shops and cafes.
